Maj.-Gen. Aharon Haliva, has retired from the Israeli military after leaving a letter of resignation on the desk of Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi, Israeli media reported.
According to Al-Manar TV English webiste, in a statement, the Israeli military said, that “The head of the Intelligence Division, Major General Aharon Haliva, in coordination with the Chief of Staff, requested to end his position following his command responsibility as head of the National Security Agency in the events of October 7.”
General Haliva is said to have served 38 years in the Israeli army. He is the first senior officer in the occupation army to resign over the October 7 attack.
